I saw a red orb come up from Hout Bay Beach side which flew low over head for about 2min before disappearing. I did not hear any sound and originally though it maybe a flare and then thought it maybe a helicopter……it was none of these.

My family and I spotted a reddish orange orb like light, on the night of 27th December 2012 while on Holiday in Port Owen up the West Coast. It was far too big to be a light on an airplane or a flare. The “light” traveled from the coast inwards for at least 2-3 km (guesstimate) I don’t know much about this so it could have been further. An orange coloured ‘star’ moved from table moutain fairly low on horizon across sky above Rondebosch. 2 of us saw it and commented. We though it was a helicopter as it was too low to be an aeroplane. However it seemed to slow almost above us and was silent. It slowly started to move straight up and eventually just disappeared. Continue Reading…

Big round orange ball moved from North to South. Made no sound and the light went out halfway, but I could still see the dark black spot disappearing in the South. If that UFO moved outside our atmosphere then from the size I saw then that was VERY big.

2 large orange orbs moving west to east in a silent straight path. They were a few minutes apart as high as a plane would fly but travelling as fast as a satellite would. 6 adults witnessed this event. Definitely not a meteor, comet or Chinese lantern. No wind that eve, overcast and moon was not visible.
