Hi Alan. Since I was 12 years old I started researching the UFO, alien and paranormal phenomena on a casual basis, partly due to the fact that both my parents saw UFOs on separate occasions. (For reference, I'm 38 now.) I received the book "Mysteries of the unknown: Mystic places by Time life books" as a birthday present when I turned 12. Even though only one chapter was devoted to the UFO and alien phenomena I began taking out books on the topic from our local library soon after. During 2006, I believe due to the internet, my interest was rekindled and since 2011 I found myself immersed on a daily basis. Unfortunately South-African society at large is not as forthcoming with their experiences or interest into the UFO lore. I myself experienced ridicule directly from family members when I shared my own encounters. Due to our society's ignorance it remains a somewhat "taboo subject." I'm by no means generalising though, since we have many witnesses, experiencers and abductees who are willing to share their stories. Hopefully, one day, we'll see a very interactiv e, homegrown, grassroots organisation, deploying researchers, hypnotherapists and trained investigators around the clock. Regarding your sighting, I do not pretend to have the answers, although I can share what I have learned through my research. Many UFO witnesses and experiencers argue that UFOs cloak themselves primarily by creating an artificial cloud. I've also discovered some researchers argue that many UFO encounters are symbolic manifestations of a personal kind for the witnesses involved. Perhaps you've read the work of the late, local South-African experiencer Elizabeth Klarer? In her book "Beyond the light barrier" she describes the interior of an actual alien aircraft, a flying saucer, she was privileged to witness in Natal. The interior wall of the ship gave of an electromagnetic glow, almost like a living skin, as soon as it started up, or as soon as her alien lover "Akon" activated the UFO. The glow was green and pink. Outside it gave of the same green and pink glow. Please see the link: http://www.bibliotecapleyades.net/vida_alien/alien_contact40.htm
