Saw the bright start flashing every 10 seconds or so for about 5 minutes traveling South to South East. Very similar in brightness and in the same direction as seen on the 1st of Jan at 12:15. Star could not be seen between flashes. At one time, a nearby star flashed equally bright and at the same time. The star remained but did not continue to flash. Could it be a rotating falling Iranium satélite? The strange thing is to see two in the same area on two different occasions.

  1. I reside in Cape Town, loosely South East from Pretoria.. Last night around 22h30 I was witnessing multiple lights which, at 1st appear to be stars then dim into invisibility and reappear in a slightly different position. Mostly it appears to be moving on some kind of course. One of the lights however, did a circular motion at tremendous speed, stood stationary for a moment then shot straight up for a short distance.. then dissapeared..
This occurred roughly around 22h30 on 17/01/2017..

  2. Hi anonymous. I live in Garsfontein and have seen the exact same thing for the past 3 days. This phenomenon happens every 2 hours starting at just past 20h00 and vanishes after 20 to 30 minutes. Then reappears in the exact spot first noticed just after 22h00 for roughly the same time as mentioned above. I thought of it being a drone but I highly doubt it because of the altitude and also the different parts of it being seen in Pretoria. I captured video footage of this. Waiting patiently for the next appearance tonight.
